We were born and raised in a summer haze
bound by the surprise of our glory days.

Sarah Vaughan, not Sinatra
Perdido, I look for my heart it’s perdido
I lost it way down in Torido
While chancing a dance fiesta
Bolero, he glanced as I danced the Bolero
He said taking off his sombrero: ‘Let’s meet for a sweet fietsa’
High was the sun when we first came close
Low was the moon when we said adios
Perdido, since then has my heart been perdido
I know I must go to Torido, that yearning to lose perdido
I look for my heart it’s perdido
I lost it way down in Torido
He glanced as I danced the Bolero
He smiled as he tipped his sombrero
High was the moon when we first came close
Low was the moon when we said adios
Since then has my heart been perdido
I must go to Torido, that yearning telude
Perdidooeoeoeoe
Perdido
oeoeoeoe
Perdido
The day the fiesta started
Perdidooeoeoeoe
Perdido
oeoeoeoe
Perdido
That’s when my heart departed
It’s perdido! -
Happy tequila and throwback music weekend!
I celebrated by drinking ‘gritas and listening to Shaggy’s “It wasn’t me”, “I want to know what love is” by Foreigner, and “Bizzarre Love Triangle” by New Order! Loudly, in my car, windows down..with a sideways ponytail..Not a joke.
Every time I see you falling
I get down on my knees and pray
I’m waiting for that final moment
you’ll say the words I cannot say.
I also accidentally spent $20 somewhere I applied because I figured it’d give me a better chance of getting an interview. DAMNIT!
CHEERS!

Vapid complaining about grammar! Yeah!
Today I applied for some state agency jobs, looked for other openings for some retail jobs, and watched Capitalism, A Love Story..haha
I’m also in the market for a new PC. I checked out the Microsoft promotion for the “free” 4G Xbox 360. Qualifications are that you have an email address that ends with .edu, or are 16-19, and you purchase a Microsoft PC with Windows 7 that is $699 or more.
I found this out on PCWorld.com. Apparently its readers are nerdy enough to post comments on their page, but not actually nerdy in an intelligent sense.
Ex. “You guys don’t even know how to write correct sentences(PCWCJS) so your obviously not smart.”
“Kinda sucks that you have to be 16-19 years old. I thought you just had to be a student in college. So supposedly you’re out of college at age 19?” When the website says:
“Students or their parents would need to verify their age (16 to 19 years old) or college enrollment (.edu email address) to qualify for the offer, which ends September 3.”
Reading and spelling are hard! After today I am left feeling more depressed for our country. Thanks for the recommendation on the documentary, Joshua! Sheesh.
*Note: I really hope I don’t have any misspellings or grammar mess ups on this post, making me a total ass.

books and thoughts.
This week I finished Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen as well as The Girl Who Played With Fire by Stieg Larson.
The Girl Who Played With Fire was a serious let down. I feel like I wasted 800+ pages of my life. I can’t really understand why people are absolutely crazy over that series.
As for Water for Elephants, it was sad on many levels, but I really liked it. Unfortunately, I read an interview with Gruen and I really don’t like her as a person.
As for other current thoughts, it’s a weird day. I’m sort of welcoming the rain. I’m also hatin’, which is natural and easy. So is life.

Having a pregnant best friend has a funny way of putting your own life into a very strange perspective.

P.s. First Poem of the day:
Drunk As Drunk
-
Drunk as drunk on turpentine
From your open kisses,
Your wet body wedged
Between my wet body and the strake
Of our boat that is made of flowers,
Feasted, we guide it - our fingers
Like tallows adorned with yellow metal -
Over the sky’s hot rim,
The day’s last breath in our sails.
Pinned by the sun between solstice
And equinox, drowsy and tangled together
We drifted for months and woke
With the bitter taste of land on our lips,
Eyelids all sticky, and we longed for lime
And the sound of a rope
Lowering a bucket down its well. Then,
We came by night to the Fortunate Isles,
And lay like fish
Under the net of our kisses.-Pablo Neruda

Change of Agenda.
In a span of about 20 minutes today I changed my academic future.
I took it upon myself to say “fuck a bunch of that” to grad school.
I’m not into attending “year round” school, or getting a Master’s degree is “Law Enforcement”. I don’t see how that’s something you learn in an institution, but whatever, I’m mastering the bachelor’s degree program. Going on SIX YEARS, BABY!
Really nervous for the boyfriend’s departure from the country in the morning. It seems more final than just being several states away. No phone is going to be hard too. I find myself wanting to text him about something I’ve just thought of or want to say to him several times a day. Well, I guess the sooner he’s gone the sooner I can count on him coming back..

Purpose of my tumblr.
I suppose what I’m going to do with my tumblr is keep poems I find that I like on here along with my thoughts. I might make some lists, post some pictures, and whatnot as well (that sounds off grammatically).
Perhaps I’ll do some restaurant talk or something for places around Charleston too. I have some goals for the three months I am off so maybe this will help me keep on track with my goals. More about that later probably.
I’m just figuring out how this thing works..
Currently I’m rather
despondentdowntrodden. Job hunting and catching up on my reading are what I’m trying to keep busy with.Sometimes it takes distance to show you just how much you care and would do for somebody I guess.

Looking forward to making money this summer. Hope the boys have a great time and nothing bad happens. I just imagine they’re rooming with pick pockets and werewolves or something. I must say I’m pretty jealous, and I’m already looking forward to their return.
Mach’s gut!
